"In One Another’s Souls,"

“The moment I heard my first love story I started looking for you,
not knowing how useless that was.
Lovers don’t meet somewhere along the way.
They’re in one another’s souls all along.”

Frequently Asked Questions - Weddings & Vow Renewals

What is the difference between a wedding Celebrant and a Registrar?

A civil ceremony is performed by a registrar, either in a registry office or a wedding venue that is licensed for ceremonies. Civil ceremonies are legally recognised, but are bound by restrictions regarding the words spoken during the ceremony, meaning there can be no religious aspect at all and your ceremony is time bound as they have several weddings a day.

At a Celebrant led service there are no restrictions on the type or length of service. It can be traditional or modern in it’s approach.

As your celebrant I will personalise your ceremony to suit your style. I will spend time getting to know you over the course of planning your wedding so we have a personal, meaningful connection for the most important day of your life.  I will create a unique ceremony from scratch, one that truly reflects you as a couple. It can be light hearted, humorous, formal or simple and will perfectly suit you as a couple.

We can also include spiritual symbolism including hand fasting, candles, crystals or tree planting, traditional elements such as a Jewish glass smash or Chinese tea ceremony or you can involve your guests in the wedding by asking them to do a reading, song or even to play a part in your tradition.

Where can we have our wedding?

One of the great things about a celebrant led wedding is that you can hold your wedding ceremony wherever you want, as long as you have the owner's permission, it does not have to be at a licensed wedding venue.  This means that you can have a ceremony at home, in a field, in the woods, on a beach, wherever means the most to you!

Is a Celebrant led Ceremony a Legally Binding Marriage?

Currently celebrant led weddings are not yet recognised by law in England and Wales on their own. This means couples often go to the registry office and are legally wed a few weeks or days before a celebrant led ceremony. This means you are technically married before the ceremony begins. The signed wedding certificate means your wedding will be legal and valid – it’s the paperwork that makes it legal, not the ceremony.

How far in advance should we book our ceremony with you?

As soon as possible!  Weekends in the summer months get booked up very quickly.

Do you conduct LGBTQ+ weddings?

Yes, absolutely - It is my absolutely joy and pleasure to create and conduct a ceremony that celebrates the love and union of two people.
